” .. as the black clouds squeezed together over the summit of the Tusk, the drizzling rain became noticeably colder and heavier. It soon turned to sleet and, within seconds of the first deep rumble of thunder, the seven climbers, completely exposed to the elements, were pinned to the grey rock wall by hailstones which ranged in size from green peas to sheep’s eyes .. “
